The Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE - Sustainable Architecture for Finance in Europe - (www.safe-frankfurt.de) promotes scientific research, transfer work to the public and independent policy advice on all aspects relating to the structure and functioning of the financial system. It aims to contribute to strengthening a sustainable and resilient financial system that drives innovation and serves the needs of the economy and citizens. Researchers from the fields of economics, law, and political science collaborate at SAFE.

Your tasks:

  • Support for the project management of the DFG project "Safety Nets, Credit Access and Income Smoothing (SNCAIS)"
  • Data processing and analysis: assistance with cleaning, structuring, and initial evaluation of data sets
  • Independent research and collection of relevant information from laws, political measures or company-specific sources
  • Literature review and documentation: collection and summarization of academic studies and policy documents to embed the analysis within the current state of research
  • Data visualization and reporting: creation of descriptive statistics, graphics, and materials for communicating results

Your profile:

  • According to § 6 WissZVG in conjunction with § 82 HHG, your enrolment at a German university is a mandatory requirement for employment at our institute
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program
  • Degree program: Economics, Business Informatics, Sociology, Political Science, or related disciplines with a quantitative focus
  • Special skills/qualifications: experience with data analysis, knowledge of Stata is desirable
  • Ability to independently research legal texts, policy documents, or company-specific information
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken (working language is English)

You will be working in a very attractive working environment in the House of Finance at Goethe University with an enthusiastic team of colleagues. The position is for 12 months from 01.09.2025, on average 40 hours per month – the temporal distribution of working hours is negotiable.
